So, we have made some new friends here in bham. Our awesome neighbors, Chris and Britney told Josh about a flag football team here that he could join. Well, Josh being the ever faithful football/Bears fan- deceided to play. The first game, they lost. The second game, they lost (and he thinks he has broken his wrist) and the third game is coming up next week. We will see how it goes! But he is having fun so thats all that matters. Oh and please check out Joshs skinny waist. He is no longer considered "over weight" which was always a good thing while playing at UCA. He could actually stand to gain a few pounds!!! Kelly jokes that he might "float" away
and she is always begging him to eat another piece of cake.

Thanksgiving with Grace!

We had such a great Thanksgiving. Mama Fay cooked a HUGE dinner and we got to see the whole family. We spent a few days with Jared, Melissa and sweet Grace (which was a blast)!! The puppies felt right at home with Oakley and Itchy. They all played so well together which was surprising. I was kind of nervous about D because she is just so scared of everything. All she was scared of were their stairs. I have no idea why, but she was. But besides that everyone got along great. I was so glad to finally meet Grace. She is such a good baby. She was sick some of the time but her smile never left her face. She is so sweet and we cant wait to see them again! Here are some photos! <3

I saw this during Black friday and wanted to post for Brad and Amy.
Which by the way-those Louisianna folks know how to shop! I have never seen so many crazy people. After causing a wreck, driving in a circle for 45 minutes, asking God why we were being punished, cusing out little punk kids, we finally got a parking spot. We went into one store...and left. i was so ready for a drink, even at 4am.

I have been decorating for Christmas and wanted to share some photos! I am still not sure if we are going to get a real tree this year or if we are just going to enjoy our 3 ft tree instead? I think Josh wants to get a real one, but this place is just so small! I have no idea where we would even begin to put one!! My stockings Kelly and I made, well... she sewed them BUT i did help some. I actually cut out the pattern and pinned them for her. They turned out so cute! Merry (very early) Christmas!

im NOT signing up for this....

Dave Berry's Colonoscopy Journal

If you've had one you'll understand and if you haven't, your time
is coming.......

"I called my friend Andy Sable, a gastroenterologist, to make an
appointment for a colonoscopy. A few days later, in his office, Andy showed me a
color diagram of the colon, a lengthy organ that appears to go all over the
place, at one point passing briefly through Minneapolis.

Then Andy explained the colonoscopy procedure to me in a thorough,
reassuring and patient manner. I nodded thoughtfully, but I didn't really
hear anything he said, because my brain was shrieking, quote, 'HE'S
GOING TO STICK A TUBE 17,000 FEET UP YOUR BEHIND!'

I left Andy's office with some written instructions, and a prescription for
a product called 'MoviPrep,' which comes in a box large enough to hold
a microwave oven. I will discuss MoviPrep in detail later; for now, suffice
it to say, that we must never allow it to fall into the hands of America's enemies.

I spent the next several days productively sitting around being nervous.
Then, on the day before my colonoscopy, I began my preparation. In
accordance with my instructions, I didn't eat any solid food that day; all
I had was chicken broth, which is basically water, only with less flavor.
Then, in the evening, I took the MoviPrep. You mix two packets of
powder together in a one-liter plastic jug, then you fill it with lukewarm
water.
(For those unfamiliar with the metric system, a liter is about 32 gallons.)
Then you have to drink the whole jug. This takes about an hour, because
MoviPrep tastes - and here I am being kind - like a mixture of goat spit
and urinal cleanser, with just a hint of lemon.

The instructions for MoviPrep, clearly written by somebody with a great
sense of humor, state that after you drink it, 'a loose, watery bowel
movement may result.' This is kind of like saying that after you jump off
your roof, you may experience contact with the ground.

MoviPrep is a nuclear laxative. I don't want to be too graphic here, but
have you ever seen a space-shuttle launch? This is pretty much the
MoviPrep experience, with you as the shuttle. There are times when you
wish the commode had a seat belt. You spend several hours pretty much
confined to the bathroom, spurting violently. You eliminate everything. And
then, when you figure you must be totally empty, you have to drink another
liter of MoviPrep, at which point, as far as I can tell, your bowels travel
into the future and start eliminating food that you have not even eaten yet.

After an action-packed evening, I finally got to sleep. The next morning my
wife drove me to the clinic. I was very nervous. Not only was I worried
about the procedure, but I had been experiencing occasional return bouts
of MoviPrep spurtage. I was thinking, 'What if I spurt on Andy?' How do
you apologize to a friend for something like that? Flowers would not be
enough.....

At the clinic I had to sign many forms acknowledging that I understood and
totally agreed with whatever the heck the forms said. Then they led me to a
room full of other colonoscopy people, where I went inside a little
curtained space and took off my clothes and put on one of those hospital
garments designed by sadist perverts, the kind that, when you put it on,
makes you feel even more naked than when you are actually naked.

Then a nurse named Eddie put a little needle in a vein in my left hand.
Ordinarily I would have fainted, but Eddie was very good, and I was
already lying down. Eddie also told me that some people put vodka in their
MoviPrep. At first I was ticked off that I hadn't thought of this is, but
then I pondered what would happen if you got yourself too tipsy to make
it to the bathroom, so you were staggering around in full Fire Hose Mode.
You would have no choice but to burn your house down.

When everything was ready, Eddie wheeled me into the procedure room,
where Andy was waiting with a nurse and an anesthesiologist. I did not see the
17,000-foot tube, but I knew Andy had it hidden around there somewhere.
I was seriously nervous at this point. Andy had me roll over on my left side,
and the anesthesiologist began hooking something up to the needle in my
hand. There was music playing in the room, and I realized that the song
was 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA. I remarked to Andy that, of all the songs
that could be playing during this particular procedure, 'Dancing Queen' had
to be the least appropriate. 'You want me to turn it up?' said Andy, from
somewhere behind me. 'Ha ha,' I said. And then it was time, the moment
I had been dreading for more than a decade. If you are squeamish, prepare
yourself, because I am going to tell you, in explicit detail, exactly what it was like.

I have no idea. Really. I slept through it. One moment, ABBA was
yelling 'Dancing Queen, feel the beat of the tambourine,' and the next moment,
I was back in the other room, waking up in a very mellow mood. Andy was
looking down at me and asking me how I felt. I felt excellent. I felt
even more excellent when Andy told me that It was all over, and that my
colon had passed with flying colors. I have never been prouder of an
internal organ".

Hell hair, Halloween and facemasks.

We had a fun but quiet Halloween weekend. Becca and Riles came to visit and we all had a blast, we honestly just hung out all weekend. Becca bought us some facemasks and cucumbers for our eyes- that was fun, pretty hillarious actually. we did more laughing than we did relaxing. Josh took pictures (which turned out great) and the dogs just thought we were crazy. Becca and I went on Saturday to get our haircut and let me just tell you, DO NOT GO TO REGIS! EVER! When i say my hair is completely screwed- i mean it with all honesty. Horrible. Im not even going to post pictures although i did take a few to show the manager at Regis (hell hair salon) next week. I am a girl on a mission, i am getting my 48 dollars back.
on a lighter and much happier note, my Sam did dress up. D only had her hoodie on but she was still cute. we also went house hunting a little this afternoon so keep your fingers crossed we find something :)
Until next time.
here are some photos <3

Horray for Josh!!

Josh has finally gotten into nursing school at UAB!! This is what he/we have been looking forward to and praying about for alomost two years...He received the letter last Saturday (which of course is the BEST day of the week) and so obviously we celebrated!! I made him a sign at work that week and hung it on the balcony for him to see when he drove up. I know that he is going to be a GREAT, if not the BEST, nurse. I am so proud of him and all of his accomplishments. And although i am biased, NO ONE deserves this more- He has worked so hard and it all paid off! CONGRATS!!!!

Sam turns 2!!

We got Sam when he was 8 months old and our baby turned two yesterday!! (tear) A friend of ours parents were trying to find a good home for the runt they named, "Sam". They loved him but already had a dog and just really wanted to find him a good home. Josh told me about him and i immediately said "When can we go get him"? We called them up and went to see him the next day. Seriously, (for me) it was love at first sight. They let us take him for a trial run, we called them on day two and told them how happy we were (including Sam) and it was a done deal. He has been by my side ever since. I rush home in the afternoons to see them and love my weekends because i get to spend it with them. He always sleeps under the covers with me and he loves to chew on socks. He wakes up in the morning just to sit by the shower until i get out. Sam has brought so much fun into my life and we also made a great family friend out of this, I am forever gratful to The Cowgers who let Sam come live with us!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!

My best friends wedding

Cassandra and Brandon got married this weekend in Gulf Shores. It was a beach wedding and it couldnt have been a more beautiful day. We were afraid it was going to be chilly but it was perfect. She looked amazing (as usual, it IS Cassandra) and their reception was really a lot of fun. Everything turned out great and we are so happy for them! We are also jealous, they are spending 7 days in Mexico at an all inclusive resort, Congrats!

new bed from grandma

the puppies recieved a gift from grandma (My mom)... A BRAND NEW BED!!! We have been wanting to get one in hopes that Delilah would sleep on it rather than in between josh and i. And from the looks of it, they both <3love<3 it. They also got a HUGE new toy. seriously, it is the biggest toy i have ever seen. So, of course i had to get it. the thing weighs more than sam but they have been playing with it since i brought it home. i am almost certain that they will both be sleeping in their new bed tonight. Thanks again Grandma!

Visiting our favorite boys!

We went this past weekend to Arkansas to see our favorite boys, UCA football team and (of course) Cooper and Brady. It was a lot of fun but WAY too short!
The boys have gotten so BIG and are so smart! Cooper was hillarious with the things he would say- and Brady is so sweet, he just does whatever Coop does. They were a lot of fun. They made us a poster full of old pictures and decorated it. It was nice to see their parentals also ;) on another note,
We were seriously depressed during the Homecoming game. . . It was the first time Josh had ever been up in the stands rather than on the field. But, we were stoked that they won!! They have had a great season and have an amazing team this year. I know he misses it and even after all the complaining of living the "football players wife" life, i missed it too. We also got to see a few friends. Debra and her kids let me sleep over for the night and we stayed up really late catching up. Haley and i did some tailgaiting throughout the game (Josh never left the stadium) and i got to see her family too. We got to see Will and Connie, of course! They were like family when we were there so anytime we can see them, we are always so excited. We went to eat with them on Sunday before we left, We miss them SO much! it was a fun weekend but like i said, way too short. here are some photos!

Also, there really hasnt been much to blog about. i am going on a cruise in two weeks, so maybe i will blog when i get back??? So, if you would like to see pictures from the wedding please visit www.thefivekelleys.blogspot.com

She is a true blogger.

Oh, and one more thing.

WARRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!! thank you Melissa, Jared, Brad, Amy and so many more of you for calling and leaving such delightful voicemails on my phone. Thank you for all the text messages and especially the blogs dedicated to the "true" tigers. and of course i mean, the AUBURN TIGERS.

*we made you work for it*

dress up isnt just for kids...

the puppies probably hate it when i put ridiculous outfits on them (like halloween costumes, hoodies, tshirts, bandanas, sunglasses) but i love it! here are some photos of delilah sporting some of her new clothes. we found out today that she has "one or two" heart worms. SO, i am of course FREAKING out...but hopefully she will be fine. we have her on some medicine and she should be better soon.
